Description

This Raven Panel has been sandblasted and painted in acrylic by Native American Artist Trevor Hunt from the Kwakiutl or Kwakwaka wakw Nation.

Mischievous and curious, the Raven plays many important roles in Pacific Northwest Coast Culture. For some, he symbolizes creation, transformation, knowledge, prestige as well as the complexity of nature and the subtlety of truth. He also symbolizes the unknown and shows that every person sees the world in a different way.

The red cedar panel is about 18 3 4 inches or 47 1 2 centimeters wide, 14 1 2 inches or 37 centimeters high, and 2 1 8 inches or 5 1 2 centimeters thick. The Raven Panel has been signed and dated by the artist.

There is a shallow crack in the back of the panel (see images).

The last image shows Trevor holding the panel.
