Abalone Moon Mask For Sale

Description
This Moon Mask is hand-carved by Kwakwaka wakw artist Bill Henderson. It has been carved from red cedar, painted in black, red, yellow, and maroon acrylic, with 97 inlays of abalone shell.
The Moon Symbol is the protector and guardian of the earth. Its spirit watches over us and can change our moods.

The mask measures approximately 29 inches or 74 centimeters in diameter and 9 inches or 23 centimeters deep.
This piece was part of our exhibition Looking After a Legacy: Through the Grains of Cedar which ran from September 3rd to December 31st 2022.
